Where to go: Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park

Country: Tanzania

Tour Overview

This six-day luxury circuit includes Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. A sequence of different lodges places you close to each major stop, with two nights in the Serengeti to support game viewing. It is a practical choice for travellers who want the classic northern highlights with a higher accommodation standard.

The 6-day private safari follows Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Serengeti National Park. Northern Tanzania private safari is the subject of this itinerary, with clear daily stops, named accommodation and prices that depend on travel dates and group size. You can use the daily outline to see where you travel, what wildlife areas you enter and how the overnight arrangements fit together.

For 6-Day Majestic Tanzania - Luxury (with Four Seasons), the stops follow the published programme, including an initial stay at Nimali Tarangire Camp. Weather, park access and wildlife movement may change the exact driving route. Confirm dates, transfers and accommodation availability before booking.

Tour Highlights

  • Explore Tarangire National Park with a private driver-guide and flexible stops.
  • See how Lake Manyara National Park contrasts with the first wildlife area.
  • Follow the published route through 6 days of activities and transfers.
  • Stay in named lodges or tented camps selected for each overnight stop.
  • Travel at a measured pace, allowing for wildlife movement and road conditions.
  • Use date-based USD prices for your group size when planning the booking.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Explore Tarangire National Park

Continue from the safari starting point towards Tarangire National Park, leaving time for the day’s scheduled visits. Your guide will use the available hours to balance travel, stops and the principal activity. Keep binoculars ready for distant animals and birds. Photography can change quickly as animals move between trees and exposed ground. Tarangire has a broad mix of riverine woodland, old baobabs and open grass that gives the park a distinctive character.

The overnight stop is Nimali Tarangire Camp. You will have time to settle at the property selected for this part of the route before the next day begins.

Main Destination: Tarangire National Park Activities: Guided game drive and road transfer Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Accommodation options: Nimali Tarangire Camp
Day 2

Explore Lake Manyara National Park

Continue from Tarangire National Park towards Lake Manyara National Park, leaving time for the day’s scheduled visits. The schedule keeps this destination as the centre of the day rather than making it a brief roadside visit. Lake Manyara is a compact park below the Rift Valley escarpment, with forest, open areas and seasonal lake margins. Baboons, blue monkeys, elephants and waterbirds are among the animals visitors may encounter in its varied habitats.

The overnight stop is Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge. The evening is an opportunity to rest before another early start and review the day’s wildlife photographs.

Main Destination: Lake Manyara National Park Activities: Guided game drive and road transfer Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Accommodation options: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge
Day 3

Explore Serengeti National Park

Continue from Lake Manyara National Park towards Serengeti National Park, leaving time for the day’s scheduled visits. The plan for this stage is to spend enough time in the main area to appreciate its character. Lion prides, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes and many grazing mammals may be seen, but a particular sighting always depends on wildlife movements. Patient time around kopjes and drainage lines can be useful for spotting predators, while the wider grassland gives good views of moving herds.

The overnight stop is Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. Use the quieter part of the day to recharge your camera batteries and confirm the following morning’s plan.

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park Activities: Guided game drive and road transfer Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Accommodation options: Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
Day 4

Continue exploring Serengeti National Park

On this part of the journey, continue from Serengeti National Park towards Serengeti National Park, leaving time for the day’s scheduled visits. Today concentrates on a different part of the route, with the journey arranged around the main destination. Patient time around kopjes and drainage lines can be useful for spotting predators, while the wider grassland gives good views of moving herds. Long views across the plains contrast with rocky outcrops and isolated trees where birds and mammals may gather.

You stay tonight at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. You will have time to settle at the property selected for this part of the route before the next day begins.

Main Destination: Serengeti National Park Activities: Guided game drive and road transfer Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Accommodation options: Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
Day 5

Explore Ngorongoro Crater

Continue from Serengeti National Park towards Ngorongoro Crater, leaving time for the day’s scheduled visits. The scenery changes again as you reach this stop on the northern Tanzania circuit. The descent reveals a broad basin with changing colours and an impressive rim above it. Weather can be cool or misty at the higher viewpoint. Pack an extra layer for the crater rim and follow park guidance during any planned picnic stop.

The overnight stop is Ngorongoro Lion's Paw Camp. The evening is an opportunity to rest before another early start and review the day’s wildlife photographs.

Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater Activities: Guided game drive and road transfer Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Accommodation options: Ngorongoro Lion’s Paw Camp
Day 6

Final Ngorongoro Crater visit and onward transfer

This is the closing day of the route. Enjoy the final planned outing before your guide arranges the onward transfer. This day adds a distinct landscape to the trip and gives you another setting for guided exploration. Pack an extra layer for the crater rim and follow park guidance during any planned picnic stop. The Ngorongoro Crater is a volcanic caldera with grassland, woodland, marsh and a soda lake contained within steep highland walls.

For this day’s itinerary, morning and afternoon conditions may feel very different; pack layers that are useful during both. Roadside scenery is worth watching as the vegetation and altitude change along this part of the circuit.

While visiting this area, no overnight accommodation is listed for this final day. Confirm departure arrangements before booking.
