Fly from Zanzibar to the Serengeti
Take the scheduled safari flight from Zanzibar to the Serengeti before meeting your guide for wildlife viewing. The plan for this stage is to spend enough time in the main area to appreciate its character. Lion prides, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes and many grazing mammals may be seen, but a particular sighting always depends on wildlife movements. Patient time around kopjes and drainage lines can be useful for spotting predators, while the wider grassland gives good views of moving herds.
Some of the most interesting encounters begin with a distant movement that is easy to overlook at first. Long views across the plains contrast with rocky outcrops and isolated trees where birds and mammals may gather.
Short breaks are useful on longer sections and give everyone a chance to stretch, drink water and take photographs. Your guide can adjust the order of drives according to local conditions, track reports and the distance between wildlife areas.
The overnight stop is Embalakai Serengeti Camp. The evening is an opportunity to rest before another early start and review the day’s wildlife photographs.
