Location 

Aberdare National Park is located in the Aberdare Mountain Range, about 100 kilometers north of Nairobi. Aberdare National Park is best known as the place where in 1952, Princess Elizabeth found out that she was going to be a queen following the death of her father while staying at the Treetops Lodge. The park has a breathtaking landscape characterized by lush forests, bamboo thickets, moorlands, spectacular mountainous terrain, and cascading waterfalls creating a captivating environment.

Wildlife 

The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife including African Elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and different antelope species such as bushbucks, waterbucks, and elands. Rare sightings include the Bongo antelope which is only one in Kenya, the golden cat, the serval cat, the African wild cat, the African civet cat

Birds 

Aberdare National Park harbors an excellent place for bird lovers. It has over 250 bird species including the sparrow, Jackson’s francolin, hawks, goshawks, eagles, sunbirds, plovers, and many more.

Magical Falls 

Aberdare is renowned for its scenic attractions including the magnificent Karura and Gura waterfalls that offer a place of magical wonders. Some of the other waterfalls include Thompson’s Waterfall, Chain Waterfalls, Kereita Cave and Waterfall, Magura Waterfalls, and Queen’s Cave.
